RC Helicopter vs RC Planes

Since RC Helicopter flying takes every kids and kids at heart to the closest experience of flying a real helicopter it is undoubtedly thrilling and exciting experience. In terms if RC Helicopter sizes - here you can trim down your choices into gas electric mini micro and toy.But in the case you want to upgrade to ultralight you can easily get familiar with flying since you have already been with an engined-helicopter.

If you prefer building model helicopter for your personal gallery. Just follow the entire manual to the 't' Do not get all excited when the heli is all put together you still have many hours of configuring / balancing / and adjusting everything. Homebuilt RC Helicopters are motorized (although wit less power) and can lift you off from the ground with the same experience you can get from a conventional full-size helicopter.

What kind of engines do RC Helicopters run on? Special remote control RC Helicopter engines. They come in 2-stroke and 4-stroke glow burning engines as well as 2 stroke gasoline models. If you descend to quickly you will enter your own down wash and the RC Helicopter will pull itself into the ground and need considerable collective to compensate. This is a bad condition. Model enthusiasts are notably quick to emulate full-size aviation achievements, but were not as successful with rotary wing aircraft, and it was not until 1968 that the first fully controllable R/C model helicopter appeared, built by Dr. Dieter Schluter of West Germany.

Pros And Cons Of Electric Rc Helicopter

Before you buy an electric rc helicopter, there are things you need to know.

Here are the pros and cons of electric rc helicopter

Pros

Electric RC helicopter is one of the more favorable kinds of rc helicopters out there in the market for several reasons:

·It is easy to fly

If you are beginning to take interest on rc helicopters, then the best way to a good start is to buy an electric rc helicopter. It is easy to fly since it only requires batteries for power. You don't have to deal with engines and engine malfunction. You also don't have to buy gas to make it fly. With electric rc helicopters, you don't have to have knowledge about how engines work. You don't need to tinker complicated moving parts since there is none. All you need to know is where the controls and your rc is flying in no time.

·It is quiet

Other rc helicopters, especially the gas powered, create a lot of noise. And this is often times annoying not only to you but also on your neighbor who wants to get some quiet moment alone. Thus, you cannot fly them around your neighborhood. The good thing about electric rc helicopter is that it creates no noise at all. Without an engine, your rc will fly silently anywhere you want it to fly without disturbing the peace.

·It is safe

Batteries are generally safe to use. This also goes with electric rc helicopter. All you have to do is to recharge it when it is empty and it will be off again in the air. You don't have to deal with flammables and you don't have to deal with engine at all.

Cons

Just like any other products, electric rc helicopter has its drawbacks. Here are those:

·The experience is less exciting

Full-size helicopters have engines and no helicopter is powered by electric current. So you cannot get a helicopter-like experience if wit electric rc helicopter. The engine noise adds up to the experience. Without it, it may be boring.

·Activity is limited

With electric rc helicopter, all you have to do is charge, fly, re-charge, fly, re-charge again, and fly again. Until you get to hate it. Like what was said earlier, you are limited to flying. Aside to that, no more.

Other RC like gas rc helicopter is more than flying, you get to tinker with the engine and in the process, get more excited every time you fly.

What Kind Of RC Helicopter Should You Buy?

Seeing RC helicopters fly is always exciting, so much so that you probably want to buy one and start out in the hobby. If that is the case, then there is one big question you must answer: "what kind of helicopters should I buy". The fact is that long gone are the days when RC helicopter came in one type: the big, expensive, hard to fly, hard to maintain, nitro-powered kind.

Now a days, there are a lot of choices to choose from whether it is a full-size nitro model, a full-size electric model, a palm size fully functioning 4 channel helicopter, a 4-channel co-axial electric helicopters, or a limited capability 2 and 3 channel ones just to name a few. Because of all these choices, the question "what kind of helicopter should I buy" becomes quite vital and not so simple. Make the wrong choice and you'll likely end up with a helicopter that does nothing but collect dust. Here are some things you should consider in order to find out which type of helicopter is right for you.

- Get the right size.

The very first thing you should consider is how big of a helicopter you should get. Helicopters come in different size ranging from one that fits on your palm to one that is half the size of a real helicopter. An easy way to figure out which size is right for you is to ask yourself: "Where would I be flying?"

Where you plan to fly is probably the most overlooked aspect when people buy their helicopters for the first time. The reason is that usually people want to go for the "cool" helicopter that is as big as their budget could afford. Well, that is great if you are primarily an outdoor flier, but that makes absolutely no sense if you would end up flying indoor most of the time. If flying inside the comfort of your house is your cup of tea, then obviously getting a smaller helicopter is more logical.

- Know how committed you plan to be.

The level of commitment you plan to be with this hobby is one of the most decisive factors when it comes to choosing the type of helicopter to buy. A lot of people spend a lot of money on an expensive standard size helicopter only to find out later that they only have one or two hours a week to play around with it - which is not enough time to be a competent enough pilot to fly such models enjoyably. So this is what a lot of old hand hobbyist would recommend: If you plan to fly just for fun after work or casually on the weekends, then a co-axial model would be best.

On the other hand, if you plan to delve full-steam ahead into the hobby, fly your helicopter every chance you get, and maybe even fly competitively later on, then by all means get those expensive models right off the bat.

- Choose a model where service and parts are available.

When buying a RC helicopter, one of the most important aspects to consider is whether or not your local hobby store or hobby groups are able to support the particular model in terms of knowledge and spare parts.

A lot of people order RC helicopters online because they could get it cheaper only to find out later when it breaks down that the only way to get replacement parts is to order online once again. Needless to say this can lead to deep frustrations. Make sure that doesn't happen to you by visiting your local hobby store and get a feel of what brand/models are favored. In doing so, you can rest assured that the particular model/brand will have abundant of spare parts and support base for you any time you need it.

Last but not least, always remember to consider your budget. While RC helicopter is a very enjoyable hobby, costs can run very high if you're not careful. Buy models that you can afford and you will be able to enjoy flying with a peace of mind.

5 Types Of Remote Control Helicopter

If you are thinking of what particular remote control helicopter to buy, then this article should help.

Here are the different types of remote control helicopter:

Gas remote control helicopter - If you are thinking of flying a helicopter that somehow close to flying a real helicopter, then the gas remote control helicopter is for you. Made with an engine and powered by gas, this helicopter is the most advanced remote control helicopter to buy. Gas remote control helicopter does not come cheap with engine and more complicated moving parts. Gas remote control helicopter is for advanced rc pilot.

Electric remote control helicopter - Early electric remote control helicopters released are expensive but later models are more affordable. This makes electric remote control helicopters more popular than any type of remote control helicopters in the market. It is easy to fly. It creates no noise and smell not like the gas remote control helicopter. It is powered by a rechargeable battery. The electric remote control helicopter is suitable for beginners.

Mini remote control helicopter - Also powered by battery, this type of remote control helicopter is similar to the electric rc helicopter. In fact, it is hard to define if the electric remote control helicopter falls on the category of a mini. But to be safe about it, you can say that it is mini if you can fly it on your living room without imposing danger on your furniture.

Mini remote control helicopter is fun to fly although controlling it on air might be a little complicated at first. But once you get the hang of it, maneuvers and landings are easy. It is also far more affordable than the two mentioned types of remote control helicopter.

Micro remote control helicopter - If you have seen micro rc car, micro rc boat, and micro rc plane, then you should not be surprised if you see micro remote control helicopter. This tiny piece of aircraft can stretch up to 8 inches. But, you cannot consider it a toy. It has standard features similar to that of a standard remote control helicopter. It is so tiny that makes it look so delicate but in face, materials used such as titanium and carbon is strong.

Toy remote control helicopter - If you want an affordable remote control helicopter, then this one is for you. Only remember that to fly this type of remote control helicopter requires a lot of practice.

Educational Toys That Stimulate Chidren's Mind

When children start to walk more steadily, run, push, pull, climb and grab things - they are growing from infants to toddlers. Between their first and second birthdays, they are self centered and get busy doing various things like - to flip light switches, pour things in and out of containers, unwrap packages and empty drawers. The toddler stage is very important in a child's life. It is the time between infancy and childhood when a child learns and grows in many ways. Everything that happens to the toddler is meaningful.

How do I know this?

I am a mother of two boys who I love dearly. I decided to stay home and raise my children with the best education and values I could provide. We made sacrifices and reorganized our lives for them. I learned the importance of educational toys as we saw our sons playing together with toys all around the house. This is when I realized the value of educational toys and started lulu-baby.com, to help other parents provide greater richness and diversity to their children. I truly believe that educational toys are the one option that can make every parents dreams true.

A toy which is worthy, gives colorful success in the end. Same goes to educational toys too. Each toy can have some educational benefits. Sometimes you may have to ask your self, How can this toy be educational to my child? The answer may be obvious, or you may have to dig a little to find a lesson or value with the toy. But, the rewards are worth it as you watch your children play with the toys in a meaningful way, and actually learn something in the process.

Here are some ideas to encourage your children to get more out of their fun time.

Baby Einstein

Infants and toddlers are apparently big fans of the Baby Einstein series, with titles like Baby Mozart, Baby Shakespeare, and Baby Van Gogh making regular rounds in their family's DVD. I learned the importance of educational toys. The shine in my sons eyes while watching several of the Baby Einstein Videos taught me that I can provide happiness to the little one. "These videos have a lot of colors and shapes that hold his attention," says another Mom. The complete line of Baby Einstein educational videos and DVDs stimulate the growing mind.

And what child doesnt love the magic of puppets? Whether its a ferocious dragon, a wiggly octopus or a friendly dog. These lovely puppets offer terrific hands-on fun that is sure to ignite any childs imagination. Playing with Baby Einstein Puppets with a parent or adult helps babies interact with others and aids in language development.

Little Tikes

These are for babies 6 to 36 months and are aimed at giving children experience. My older son enjoys climbing up and down the Castle Climber has been one of our best investments towards our children's growing up.

Little Tikes offers a variety of play sets that help fuel their imagination. Little Tikes toys do not entertain children the way so many toys and products do. They allow a child's imagination to run free and expand. There are not a lot of bells and whistles, but children do not need that all the time. They get sensory overload. Little Tikes produces toys that not only allow children to educate themselves, the toys encourage imagination and education.

Little Tikes makes shape sorters, infant sensory stimulation toys, outdoor toys that promote large motor skill development, and even furniture for a nursery, toddler or preschooler's bedroom or playroom.

Already the leader in plastic furniture for children, Little Tikes is building on its established reputation for safety and durability by launching its first line of wooden furniture - natural interiors. So the furniture looks great as is or decorated with paint to match a child's personality. The light wood furniture -including a table, chair, desk, easel, toy box and storage center- is perfectly scaled for kids and designed so that its looks at home in any interior or room of the house.

I can go on for another page as a typical Mom. But I would encourage you to visit my web site lulu-baby.com for more information. You may be wondering where the name lulu-baby came from. You will know once you visit my web site.

We, as Moms are very busy, we are always running around to take care of our babies. Online shopping is a great help for us busy Moms. Buying good products from the convenience of my home has become part of my life.

Our web site aims to be more than a web store, but a good resource for Moms, a place to find good products for you and your child.

With our deepest love for children, lets bring a lot of laughter into our homes.

Between Gas And Electric RC Helicopter

Rc helicopter has become one of the more popular "boy toys" that hit and hit big. Its popularity is not surprising at all. Imagine fulfilling your dream of flying an aircraft without spending too much. And most of all: without leaving your foot off the ground. Now that's a good plus factor if you simply don't want to risk your life flying with a spinning rotor above your head.

Rc helicopter usually come in either gas or electric powered. Here are the things you should know about the two:

Electric rc Helicopter - If you are a novice rc enthusiast, then the most advisable thing to buy is the electric rc helicopter. The reasons are simple. Electric rc helicopter is simpler than other types of rc helicopters especially the gas rc's. With the electric, you don't have to deal with the engine and the gas it will consume. You would not need to have proper knowledge about mechanics just to make it fly. You don't have to spend a lot of time reader the manual just to understand how it works. And if the helicopter fails, you don't have to figure out how to fix it.

If you are thinking that electric rc helicopter would not fly for long then you should change you perspective. Most modern electric rc's are powered by lithium batteries and coupled with brushless motors. This makes it fly much longer. In fact it can out last some of the gas rc's.

And last thing: It is quiet on air thus you cannot disturb other's privacy.

Gas rc Helicopter - A more experienced rc helicopter pilot prefers gas powered rc helicopters for several reasons. One is, flying gas rc helicopter flies like flying a full-size helicopter since the sound that the engine creates can trigger excitement. Oh! You might think that it is quite absurd. But no! The sound of the engine makes it more exciting to fly. Another reason is that gas rc helicopter is more complicated that keeps its pilot more addicted with it. Why? This is because the pilot is not only limited to flying the helicopter alone. Pilot is involved with how the mechanics of the RC. This gives him more reason to become excited on the RC.

Choosing between an electric RC helicopter and a gas RC helicopter is up to you. Evaluate carefully so that you get most out of your rc flying experience.

Enjoy a Theatre Trip to Glasgow

When people think of amazing theatre trips, most imaginations tend to drift off to Broadway and the West End - two of the most iconic theatre districts in the world. Broadway in New York is home to many actors' and actresses' dreams; where they picture themselves belting out the next greatest musical in front of an amazed audience - and London's West End isn't too different.

However, theatre is a pleasure that is performed all over the world, and a performance taking place somewhere other than these two magical destinations isn't necessarily inferior. In fact, there is every chance that the plays and productions you take in outside of Broadway and the West End are even better than their more esteemed counterparts. After all, Broadway and the West End have nothing to prove, where theatre productions taking place outside these locations do: they have to prove that they're just as good.

Glasgow is one such location where the theatre scene is simply fantastic. With a long history of excellent theatrical performances, the west Scotland city truly shines when it comes to the performing arts.

Home to the RSAMD - Scotland's most esteemed drama school - the city is packed full of well-trained actors and home to a string of constantly improving productions, some of which include touring performances from the West End.

Whatever type of production you want to take in while on a trip to Glasgow, you're bound to find it. From the best in musical theatre to performances of Shakespeare's greats, you'll never been disappointed by the sheer breadth of what's on offer.

The Citizens Theatre is an amazing production theatre, which is used to film television theatre as well as put on performances to large crowds. Glasgow's King's Theatre, which is now more than 100 years old, is the one to head for if you're into large scale, dramatic performances that include plenty of music and dance. The theatre has a vast space for this type of production and it is well worth taking in whatever's on show during your visit as you're guaranteed to be impressed. Sometimes, the King's even includes circus-style performances in its programming.

Glasgow has many other theatres, like the Pavilion, the Tron, the National Theatre of Scotland and, the home of Scottish Opera, the Theatre Royal - all of which await from the moment you arrive in the city on your Glasgow flights - so be sure to check what's on and get booking those tickets!

Wakeboarding Equipment - The Future of Sport is Extreme!

People have been playing games and participating in sport, probably since the beginning of time. It is true perhaps that early sport may have been very primitive and a far cry from events we now see but the concept of competing, either as individuals or in teams has been around forever!

The first recorded history of the Olympic Games dates back to 776 BC. In those days there was only one event, the 192 metre dash. I don’t know why they didn’t keep that one in!

There is much debate as to what exactly is the crucial factor when deciding what is sport and what isn’t and this debate rumbles ever more furiously on when it comes to what are now considered to be extreme sports.

For example why is snowboarding considered to be “extreme” and skiing generally not? I mean, they both involve hurtling down near vertical slopes of ice on bits of manufactured plastic or carbon fibre!

Despite these quandaries, extreme sport has literally taken off in the last couple of decades and there are no signs that this trend is slowing down. The growth of the sports is almost as extreme as the events themselves!

Video game culture has raised the profile too, with hosts of snowboarding, skateboarding and even surfing and wakeboard games. Snowboarding also made its debut in the 2008 Olympics in China, further evidence of its increasing popularity.

Of course, with new “things” come new marketing opportunities and it is becoming more and more common to see specialist extreme sports shops and stores on your local high street; smaller stores and large emporiums too are springing up, supplying all your wakeboarding equipment and climbing gear amongst lots of other exciting stuff!

The internet has surely helped to increase the exposure of a lot of the extreme sports, some of which are now practically household names, such as snowboarding, skateboarding and climbing, while others still have a bit of work to do. A quick search in one of the internet search engines for the sport you are looking for, is very likely to throw up thousands, if not, millions of results for your desired search!

Along with all the news and gossip from these sporting worlds, there are also a host of online stores, where, here too, you can order your new snowboarding equipment and extreme clothing.

Manufacturer's Description
The PicooZ is the ultimate flying experiences from Silverlit--the experts in flying right out of the box. The PicooZ weighs only 10 grams, about the same as a packet of crisps! But don't buy the crisps, instead check out the video and read about all the fun you can have with this slim-line, infrared-controlled, precision flying machine.
At six inches long and fitting comfortably in the palm of your hand, the PicooZ incorporates a stable system of flight to ensure a 'straight out of the box experience'. Supremely responsive, you control it via an innovative, two-channel, proportional wide-beam infra red system. This effectively works like a TV remote and means you avoid poking out the eyes of loved ones--a risk with more traditional telescopic aerials!
PicooZ has 2 powerful micro motors, which are powered by a built in Lithium Polymer flight battery and enable flights of 10 minutes or more. Recharge takes less than half an hour with the portable charger provided. The PicooZ also has a strobe LED (blue) for those night manoeuvres, while the auto stability system makes for a speedy pilot's license. Made of expanded polypropylene foam, the PicooZ can be flown indoors or outdoors (in calm conditions) and can take a few knocks while remaining in flyable condition. Spare rotor blades are available for purchase separately.

Customer Reviews

Great Fun! It's a great toy and alot of fun for the price. The controls allow you to alter the speed of the main rotor to alter the lift, also the speed of the tail rotor to turn the helicopter. With judicious application of the stick on weights you can balance the model so that it drifts forward when in stable flight. It takes a bit of practice to get this thing to go in roughly the direction you want it too but that is half the fun.
Addictive toy!! My nephew bought me this as a Christmas gift & I haven't stopped playing with it since! I found that it required a little more nose weight to give it forward momentum (Blue Tack sorted that out)but once I had added the extra nose weight it flew beautifully. As a former pilot I can tell you it's flight characteristics are quite realistic & once you get the hang of the slight delay from the infra red transmitter the helicopter is very controllable. It is an indoor toy only as the infra red transmitter requires walls to bounce the 'beam' to the helicopter & as it's made from styrofoam any light breeze would blow it away. Initially I broke a couple of tail rotors on our laminate floor but these are available in packs of 3 from Firebox.com quite cheaply - since then I've taken to flying it in carpeted areas of the house! Buy one, you certainly won't be disappointed!
Fun but more fragile than you might think. This is more of a toy for 14+ than little kids - it's difficult to learn to fly, but you do learn a bit about the physics of helicopters in doing so, so I suppose it's not so bad to have a learning curve. It's definitely very fun. Whizzing it round the house, teasing the cat and seeing where I could land it (On top of the TV - 3 points, On the lampshade - 10 points, Out of the window and on top of the gazebo - 25 points etc...)! A couple of things I would like to alert possible buyers are: 1) The tail rotors - You only get 2 (one on the chopper and a second spare). The fitting for the tail rotors can get worn out, causing the helicopter to spin uncontrolably. If this occurs, you will need to move on to the spare. The tail rotors are also very fragile, and will crack if you whack the helicopter into a wall, hit a venetian blind or tangle it up amongst wires. 2) Don't do what my mate did and try to make it take off from your head. You WILL get your hair tangled and cry like a baby. 3) The helicopter moves with a surprising amount of force. Avoid hitting anything delicate. Also watch out for bits of paper that might be lying about, as they can get blown away. I paid £30 for my Picoo, and I still think it was worth that much. Buy it and enjoy it - just be careful!

Customer Reviews
The new Police bike The new cast of the Motorbike in Lego products looks something more like a Sinclair C5 from the 1980's, which is a tad confusing at best. Never the less, it makes much more sense to have this sharper looking bike for a Policeman than the previous traditional style. Note also it has different wheels; they have better and appear less chunky, but this is part of Lego's insistance on special pieces. It comes with the usual bricks, such as an antenna, radio, and light parts, making it a nice addition to your city.
Beefy Bike! One of the smaller sets from the current City range, this new police bike seems to borrow its styling and design from those muscular American police bikes, albeit slightly squatter. There's quite a few pieces to the set, plus the obligatory decals (a cost cutting measure, methinks!). Once complete, you have a nifty looking bike. There's not really anything else you can build with this set, as the bike body is just two pieces clipped together, so it does loose points on that front. It is better than the older (and smaller) police bikes, but does seem to slightly dwarf the driver - who has to stand up rather than sit to drive this! The price is reasonable, although if you've a choice between this, the mini digger or the fire chief's buggy, I'd go for those - they've a little more play value to them.

Legendary Action Figures That Are Always A Hit

Legendary Action Figures That Are Always A Hit

Action abstracts accept been a hit with accouchement doe ages and abounding of us can bethink arena with assertive activity abstracts that were marketed forth with movies or television shows. Some activity abstracts accept appear and gone but some abide that accept abiding their acceptance for a continued time.
G.I. Joe is on par with Barbie as the macho analogue in assertive the activity amount industry. He has been about for over 40 years and to this day is still accepted with adolescent boys. Activity abstracts are aswell account absolutely a acceptable sum of money to collectors, abnormally the best figures. Take a attending at some of the activity abstracts that accept remained a force in the bazaar aback their introduction.
The aboriginal activity amount we will attending at is the bulletproof G.I. Joe, alien to the toy industry by Hasbro in 1964. This aboriginal adaptation of the activity amount was an actual success with adolescent boys all over absent one. The success of the aboriginal amount has led to abounding variations getting created and offered now and accouchement can adjudge on a G.I. Joe, allies, enemies and now even adopted fighters. They are now even introducing signature curve of the abstracts that represent heroes from the aggressive as able-bodied as acclaimed astronauts. The aboriginal G.I. Joe dolls from the 1960's are now a collector's account that is anticipation of as a cultural amount bringing big money on eBay.
Another articulation of the activity amount bazaar that never seems to abate is the superhero genre. Superman, Spiderman, and Batman abide the arch favorites even blockage accepted afterwards a agnate movie. Spiderman has been actual abundant in appeal of backward aback the endure Spiderman movie. Batman is marketed forth with the accepted cine alternation and cartoons. Superman, the amount that in fact created the class is advancing aback able now even added than anytime with the absolution of the latest Superman movie. The X-Men movies accept led to a able afterward in these activity abstracts as well. If you are searching for any of these abstracts you should analysis out some of the sites online like eBay.
One of the better abruptness hits to me was The Teenage Aberrant Ninja Turtles. Who would accept anticipation that an abstraction about aberrant turtle superheroes would be so huge? This superhero alcove began as a banana book again led to the animation alternation which was again followed by a accepted cine franchise. You allocution about an imagination, Teenage Aberrant Ninja Turtles who are pizza-loving aggressive artists mentored by a avenue rat ninja master. Another accurate aberration was allotment them afterwards acclaimed renaissance artists..

The Star Wars Legos Games - Things You Should Know Before Buying Lego Stars Wars II

The Star Wars Legos Games - Things You Should Know Before Buying Lego Stars Wars II

Author: Neil Donegan

Occasionally video games are released that you just know will become classics. Like The Matrix of the movie world, sometimes a video game comes a long that brings a freshness that is totally satisfying. Not that they're without flaws (we'll come to those), but they're special enough that you don't really notice them. The Star Wars Legos games fit this bill, and in particular, LEGO Star Wars II. From the quirky, comical style of the game that sets the whole theme of the game, to the complex character interaction and multiple playing modes the video game is gaining a growing fan base. Notwithstanding the great features, there are also some annoyances worth mentioning. This article will provide an overview of the Lego Star Wars and some of the main features that are attracting fans from all over the globe.
If you were to summarize its main selling point, it would have to be the comical sense of fun the game creates. The whole idea of a video game based on lego characters based on a movie series has got to be a great starting point for a spoof game! From the way the classic scenes are done in a comic style to the way Chewie rips arms off the stormtroopers its pretty hard not to smile when playing the game. The graphics are just right too - somehow they've got the animation just right - they move just like you'd expect lego characters to move. Not that I've ever seen one move, of course.
Star Wars Lego II is suitable for adults and children alike and because it has multi-player multi-character functionality adults are able to jump in and help them out when required. Dedicated Star Wars fans will be delighted to hear that John Williams' classic music accompanies the game as it moves through the different chapters and episodes. It covers episodes 4-6 and follows the movies quite faithfully in story mode.
The game has two main modes to play - story mode, where you can re-enact the scenes from the movie, and free-play mode. It probably takes about 5 hours of game time to complete all three episodes in story mode - but don't fret, there is plenty of fun to be had in free play mode. In this mode you can move away from the script, so to speak, and use different or new characters in different roles and explore alternative areas within the game. Some characters can access special areas that may not be available in story mode. Ewoks, for example, can enter vents and hatches to areas that are inaccessible to others.
The characters are really the heart of the game. The way they interact and the way you are able to interact with them is what makes the Star Wars Legos game so great. As you move through the episodes (or in free-play mode), you need to use different characters to solve different problems. Each character has a unique attribute - for example, Jedis can use The Force and droids can open certain doors. You play one character at a time and can switch between them to complete the various areas. More than one person can play at a time. You can even create you own characters - Han Solo's head with Princess Leia's body with Darth's legs, if thats what turns you on. You can also name your characters.
Using a game save from the original Lego Star Wars will give you an additional 50 characters that you can unlock. You unlock characters and buy "cheats" by earning money, which is achieved by destroying the enemy or certain objects along the way.
There were a few issues when using the game. Probably the most annoying thing I found was the lack of control of the camera - a legacy from the original Star Wars Legos original game. Ol' Chewie can be a bit annoying as he goes into arm-ripping mode just when you want him to be shooting out in a firefight. In fact, thats a general problem - characters go into close combat mode automatically and this can be a bit frustrating at times. If you're busy blasting walls or whatever and your friend gets too close, you'll find that you fry them as well.
My final point is to remember this game is about fun and entertainment. In reality there isn't a great deal of challenge in the Star Wars Legos games. If you're a hardcore, ultra-competitive gamer then this isn't for you. If you want a good laugh and a bit of entertainment then you've got a winner here.

Construction Toys Lego

Construction Toys Lego

Author: Jonathon Hardcastle

As a kid I was extremely lucky to grow up during a time when construction toys were particularly popular. In fact, I strongly believe that the reason why I thought later of becoming an architect has its roots on one of my favorite toys of all times, named LEGO. Indeed, the ancient Greek philosopher Plato wrote that the future architect should play at building houses as a child.Being a construction toy, LEGO is a line of toys featuring colorful plastic bricks, gears, minifigures, among other pieces, which can be assembled to create models of almost anything imaginable. My brother and I have spent countless hours constructing castles, bridges, cars, planes, trains, building, ships, roads, or even robots with which we played around and were happy to exchange. The LEGO pieces, produced by the Lego Group, a privately-held company based in Denmark, fit perfectly together and depending on the kids' imagination they can take almost any shape possible. Referring to the bricks themselves as "Legos," my brother, our friends and I were always ready to begin our construction marathons that ended when every single brick was placed on one of our constructions. These types of construction sets have evolved to all time classics and LEGO building blocks have long been an appreciable child pastime. I recall with nostalgia the time when my brother collected all the pieces from the floor in order to use them later at his own pile that no block would be left unused.LEGO was perhaps the most important toy we shared with my brother. Even if I am not a boy, the hobby of constructing these models was shared by my brother and me, and I believe by men and women of all ages. Since one of the things I enjoy most is working with my hands, construction sets, like LEGO, appealed to me greatly during childhood. Even today if I visit a friend's child, I always pay a visit to their play room, since the constructions they have left unfinished "magically" are completed by the time I have to walk out their house door.

History Of Lego Star Wars

History Of Lego Star WarsAuthor: Amy Nutt

History Of Lego Star Wars
Submitted By: Amy Nutt

Lego Star Wars has quite the interesting history when it comes to the fact that the game entertains children everywhere. It all stems from the popular plastic building blocks that can be used to build cars, space ships, buildings, and whatever a child's imagination can think up. Anyone under the age of 60 has most likely played with Legos, so that means that many of the children playing with them today have grandparents who once used their imaginations to do the same exact thing.
The Lego saga began in 1932 in Billund, Denmark, where a carpenter by the name of Ole Kirk Kristiansen began a new business that made wooden toys, stepladders, and ironing boards. What no one realized at that time was that Legos had been born.
It was in 1934 that Kristiansen created the name Lego, which is derived from “leg godt,” which are the Danish words for “play well.” However, in Latin, the word Lego means “I put together.” Unfortunately in 1942, the plant burned down and Kristiansen had to rebuild, but just two years later, Kristiansen’s plant purchased an injection molding machine that created plastic toys, but he was yet to invent the building blocks.
It was in 1949 that the Automatic Binding Brick was introduced for sale only in Denmark and looked like a tiny plastic brick with eight or four studs. However, by 1950 the Lego accounted for half of the company’s business. From then on, the Lego began spreading around the world and through the years had developed various themes such as sets that focused just on building cars or on just building buildings. The possibilities were endless.
However, the Legos of today are much different than the Legos both we and our parents played with. Our children are playing with Lego theme parks, there are Lego themed movies, and there are even Lego themed video games that are based off of particular toy lines created by Lego. One of those toy lines is Lego Star Wars, which later led to the Lego Star Wars video game.
The video game was first released in 2005 and is based during the prequel trilogy to the actual Star Wars Trilogy that began in the late 1970's and early 1980's. However, the game was actually released a month before the last of the Star Wars films was released.
It was developed by LucasArts and Eidos Interactive for the Sony PlayStation2, the Microsoft Xbox, and for personal computers running the Microsoft Windows Operating System. It was also developed for Nintendo's Game Boy Advance. In August 2005, A Mac port was developed for the game to be played on Mac computers and in October 2005, a version was released for the Nintendo GameCube.
Lego Star Wars received the Kidsworld.com award of Game of the Year and received very good reviews. In May 2005, it even peaked at the top of the charts in the UK to eventually lose its prominent spot to the Episode III game that was later released. However, its position as a top game for kids remained high for quite some time.
In September 2006, Lego Star Wars II: The Original Trilogy was released and a year later was followed by a prequel game released in November 2007 called, Lego Star Wars: The Complete Saga. Some deem the Lego Star Wars video games as the coolest games in history and they consistently receive ratings between 4 and 5 stars out of a possible 5 stars on many gaming websites. The games are great for children and are a great way for the Lego legacy to live on through the electronic world.
